Discovery Montessori Academy's mission is to prepare our students to be life-long learners and responsible citizens of the community. Through the Montessori Method blended with a traditional curriculum, we prepare students for developmentally appropriate learning in academics, social development and life skills. We strongly believe that using both methods in our teaching structure enables our students to pursue their own interests in life.
We inspire our students through leadership, integrity and diversity, for an inclusive and welcoming community. Being a Montessori school that provides a nurturing environment for every student is our foundation.
DMA students have consistently been accepted to their high school of choice, whether a magnet school or a private school, and leave with statewide assessment scores that place them in advanced coursework.
We focus on academic progress, and also on a family community that runs from staff to parents. Every role matters to the growth of the child.
DMA administers the MAP Growth standardized assessment in elementary and middle school, using current norms that compare our students nationally, not just within Florida. We do not pressure students or staff to prepare for it; research shows that when the curriculum is taught carefully, students perform to their highest potential. Results are reviewed with families at conferences each grading period.
Small by design.
We serve families across South Miami-Dade from VPK through 12th grade, in classrooms where the guide knows every child and every family knows the guide. The intimate environment is not a limitation; it is the method.
